Marilyn's three decades of account experience spans from law, medicine and financial service professionals to hospitality, non-profit, building arts, retail, entertainment, and healthcare technology organizations, as well as large corporations for whom she has created and publicized special events. An Atlanta resident since 1970, Marilyn has been heavily involved in over 100 public relations and community/business organizations, including the Buckhead Club, Georgia Restaurant Association, International Business Association, Public Relations Society of America–Georgia Chapter, and the Atlanta Press Club. Her board memberships include Genesis Shelter for the Homeless, Atlanta Women's Alliance, Women in Sports and Events, the Jewish National Fund, and Kiwanis.
When she talks about her proudest moments in public relations — securing the appearance of the Bahamian junkanoo band for WSB's "Salute 2 America" parade; garnering coverage of LimeLight Disco events in People, Delta Sky and Forbes magazines as well as on "Entertainment Tonight" and CNN; media coverage of General Motors' "Sunrayce" throughout the Southeast; interviews for prominent Georgia workers' compensation attorneys on "20/20"; FOX network coverage for an Atlanta-based international dance booking company and studio; placements in Ladies' Home Journal for the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer; placement in US News & World Report for Wilson Jones — her eyes light up.
She is a member of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce Global Commerce Council, serving on several of the council’s committees, and the Southeast American Israel Chamber of Commerce, assisting with volunteer public relations advice. She also holds the office of 2009–2010 vice president community service for the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International, Georgia Chapter. Her volunteer spirit also has benefitted Hadassah, an international Jewish organization, which she has helped by assisting with volunteer projects and offering public relations guidance. In addition, Marilyn has volunteered for numerous organizations, including Friendship Force (hosting visitors in her home from Holland and the Newcastle on Tyne, England, as well as organizing media relations for two trips to Newcastle), the Atlanta Sister Cities Commission, Georgia Council for International Visitors (hosting visitors from Greece, Tunisia and Israel), the International Business Association, and the Jewish National Fund.
Marilyn graduated from Rhodes College, located in her hometown of Memphis, Tennessee. Her passions include dogs, aerobics, the arts and travel, and she enjoys keeping abreast of styles and trends. She resides in a house that her father designed and built.
